sittin' in with Van & Lisa
Got to sit in very briefly during Van Wilks' set at the Saxon Pub tonight; he was playing "Would You Go My Way" (which he wrote with Nancy and myself) and let me play bass onstage with Lisa Tingle and Josh (on the right). Very cool!

House Concert with Mark Lennon-John Vester
This evening I sat in and played backup for a couple songs at Mark Lennon-John Vester's House Concert, which was fun. I also opened the show with a few of my own songs. Thanks to Nancy for hosting this fabulous event.

gig with Mark Lennon & John Vester
Played a gig this evening with Mark Lennon (from the group Venice) and John Vester, outside at the Y Bar & Grill. I backed Mark up on keyboard and guitar on several solo songs when he wasn't singing with John, and sat in on one of their duo tunes. It was a very enjoyable gig, and a warm up to tomorrow night's house concert!

playing guitar at church
There are rarely any photos depicting it, but I play every Sunday morning at a church in Westlake Hills. We play for the contemporary service. Here the drummer Pauly snapped a pic of me during a Saturday morning rehearsal.

Loaded Soul band photos
I got to use my photographic skills today, taking publicity pictures for the band Loaded Soul, which includes my friend DeWayne as one of the guitarists; we took these at an old abandoned fire station downtown. We were up on the second floor, which hasn't been air-conditioned in years, so the heat was pretty intense up there. Yet it seemed that they all had more problems dealing with the heat than I did, which I found amusing, considering all four of these guys are firemen! But in any event, they picked a great location and I got several good shots here. (as always, click to enlarge)

Coffeehouse concert
I got to perform a solo gig on this evening at Unity Church as part of their Coffeehouse Concert series. I performed several of my own songs and a host of great old songs I grew up with. It was a lot of fun. I'm very grateful to Josh, Pauly, Nancy and Mark for being "the band". And thanks to Lisa who filmed the video, from which these stills were taken.
